At the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the Almond Blossom Initiative once again launched a drive to collect gently used textbooks, reaching students, teachers, and families. Donations included Advanced Placement review guides, math textbooks, and standardized test prep books, each packed with practice problems, full-length practice exams, and detailed content explanations to help students prepare.Â
After AP exams, many review books are set aside, often forgotten or discarded. However, each one carries significant value, both in cost (typically $20 or more) and potential. Many students who face financial barriers have difficulty accessing these books, and that's why a focus of our student-led initiative is redirecting these books to students in need. In their hands, these books are actually used.
Scoring well on these exams can earn college credit and strengthen a student's academic profile. As students ourselves, we understand the pressure of these tests and the benefits of a good review book. We're proud to support these learners across the greater Orlando area and look forward to our next drive!
